Patients Rights
At ScanAlign, our commitment goes beyond clinical accuracy, it extends to how you are treated, heard, and supported every step of the way. We believe that understanding your rights is key to making informed decisions about your health, and that true care is built on trust, transparency, and human connection.
This page explains your core rights as a patient and outlines the support available to help you feel confident and cared for throughout your journey with us.
Your Right to Informed Consent
You deserve to understand exactly why you’re having an EOS scan, including the benefits, the purpose, and any associated risks, before proceeding. You’ll never be scanned without your full and documented consent. If anything is unclear, you are always entitled to ask questions and receive clear, supportive answers. We want you to feel completely informed and confident before making any decision.
Your Right to Be Treated with Dignity and Respect
Everyone who comes through our doors is met with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. We respect your privacy, culture, identity, and beliefs, and we ensure your personal preferences are considered as part of your care. You will always be treated as a person, not just a patient.
Your Right to Privacy and Confidentiality
All personal and medical information you share with us is kept strictly confidential. We will only ever disclose your information with your consent, unless it’s required by law or essential to protect your safety. If you wish to view or amend your records, you can request access at any time. More details can be found in our Privacy Policy.
Your Right to Access and Understand Your Results
You have the right to receive your scan results in a timely, accessible format. Depending on your scan type, this may include a radiologist’s report and a personalised video explanation. You’re free to share your results with any healthcare professional of your choice.
Your Right to Bring Someone With You
Whether it’s for reassurance or emotional support, you are welcome to bring someone with you to your appointment. You can also request a chaperone if that helps you feel more at ease, just let us know ahead of time so we can arrange this for you.
Your Right to Decline or Withdraw
At any point, even after booking, you have the right to change your mind. If you decide not to proceed, we’ll explain the implications honestly and clearly, but the final choice is always yours. Your autonomy is at the heart of everything we do.
Your Right to Safe, Justified Imaging
We never perform scans unless they are clinically appropriate and safe. Every procedure is carried out under strict adherence to IR(ME)R 2017 and CQC guidelines. We follow the ALARA principle, ensuring radiation is kept as low as reasonably achievable without compromising diagnostic value.
Your Right to Raise Concerns
If something hasn’t gone as expected, you have every right to speak up. We treat all concerns seriously and with discretion. Your future care will never be affected by your feedback, and we see every concern as an opportunity to do better.
To raise a concern or make a complaint, you can contact us at complaints@ScanAlign.co.uk or call us on 020 7935 0001
You’re also free to approach the Care Quality Commission (CQC) or independent advocacy services if you prefer outside support.
