What does back pain when walking feel like?

How does a standing scan show what lying-down imaging misses?
A standing, weight-bearing scan reveals alignment problems that disappear when you lie down. When you lie flat for a standard X-ray, CT or MRI, gravity is removed and your muscles relax. Joints settle into a neutral position. A tilt, a shift or a subtle curve that causes pain every time you walk may look completely normal on a lying-down image.
An EOS scan takes a full-length image of your body while you stand naturally. It captures your spine, pelvis, hips, knees and ankles in a single exposure, so the relationship between all of them can be measured together. If your pelvis is tilted and your spine is curving to compensate, the scan shows that. If one leg is effectively shorter and your lower back is absorbing the difference, that shows too.
EOS uses about 90% less radiation than a standard X-ray, around ten times less. The scan itself takes only a few minutes and you simply stand still inside the machine.
